So You Think You Can Do Everything On Your Own…
A Prayer for the Restless, the Weary, and the Overwhelmed

There’s a quiet crisis happening right now — and most people don’t even realize they’re in it.

It doesn’t always show up as breakdowns or public panic.
It shows up at night.

It looks like someone lying in bed, exhausted but unable to sleep…
Scrolling through headlines, absorbing fear, checking updates, trying to make sense of a world that feels increasingly unstable.

It sounds like overthinking.
It feels like pressure in the chest.
It turns into questions like:

“What’s going to happen next?”
“Am I going to be okay?”
“How do I protect myself and the people I love?”

And the truth is — this isn’t just personal anxiety.

This is collective grief.

Across the world, people are grieving things they can’t even fully name:

  • Loss of stability

  • Loss of certainty

  • Loss of trust in systems they once believed in

  • Loss of the future they thought they were building

And instead of processing it…
we’re consuming it.

Every day, people are taking in more information than their minds and spirits were ever designed to carry. Social media has become a constant stream of crisis, comparison, and confusion — and it’s affecting people in very real ways.

Let’s call it what it is:

Social media distress is real.
Social media grief is real.
Social media addiction is real.

You can see it in the symptoms:

  • Difficulty sleeping

  • Constant checking and refreshing

  • Emotional overwhelm without a clear source

  • Feeling drained, but unable to disconnect

  • Anxiety that increases the more you “stay informed”

And yet, many people still believe the answer is to keep pushing…
keep watching…
keep figuring it out on their own.

But here’s the question we have to ask:

At what point do we admit that we were never meant to carry this alone?

Because there is a difference between being informed… and being consumed.

There is a difference between being aware… and being overwhelmed.

And right now, too many people have crossed that line.

I’ve spoken to individuals who are doing everything “right” — working, showing up, taking care of responsibilities — but internally, they are exhausted. Spiritually disconnected. Mentally overloaded.

Some are even finding themselves in moments they never expected —
breaking down in silence…
crying without knowing exactly why…
feeling a sense of fear that doesn’t match their immediate reality.

So I want to ask you something — honestly, without judgment:

Do you believe in prayer?

Not as a ritual.
Not as something you do occasionally.
But as a real, active source of grounding, clarity, and peace.

Because if you do…
then why has it become secondary to everything else?

Why is it that we will scroll for hours,
but struggle to sit still for even a few minutes?

Why do we trust information more than we trust God?

Why are we trying to solve spiritual and emotional overload
with more mental input?

There comes a point where the solution is no longer external.

It’s not another post.
It’s not another video.
It’s not another opinion.

It’s a return.A return to stillness.
A return to faith.
A return to something deeper than fear.

Prayer is not about having the perfect words.
It’s not about doing it “right.”

Sometimes prayer looks like:

  • Sitting in silence because you don’t know what to say

  • Whispering, “God, I need help”

  • Crying and letting that be enough

  • Turning everything off and just breathing again

But what matters is that you pause long enough to reconnect.

Because when everything around you feels uncertain,
prayer becomes the place where you stabilize.

It doesn’t remove reality.
But it changes how you carry it.

So instead of asking, “How do I fix everything?”
maybe the better question is:

“What am I holding that I need to release?”

If you’ve been overwhelmed lately…
If your mind has been racing…
If your peace has been interrupted…

this is your moment to shift.

Not by doing more.

But by doing less of what is harming you…
and more of what restores you.

Turn it off.
Step away.
Give your mind a break from constant input.

And for a moment — just be still.

Because you don’t have to carry the weight of the world to care about it.
And you don’t have to lose your peace to stay aware.

There is another way to move through this season.

One that is grounded.
One that is intentional.
One that is rooted in faith, not fear.

And it starts with remembering this:

You were never meant to do this alone.
